Firstly, Happy New Year!!!
So here it begins, the training. I’ve enrolled in 12 week PT sessions at my local gym. 12 weeks where Andy, my trainer, will help build up the strength in not only my legs but my upper body and core as well. Alongside this, a good healthy diet (containing mostly of chicken and veg) will help build up enough muscle to help me at the beginning of my hike. The futher into my hike, the fitter I will become, so it’s all about building up the stamina. I’ve started reducing my pack size and weight of my pack, but even with 10kg on your back, climbing over a sty can be an effort in the beginning. This is where Andy comes into it. Weighted step up and overs? 🤢
First things first, it’s time to visit the sports massage therapist Jordan to get this Hamstrings lose again so we dont cause any injuries.
I’m hoping 18 weeks of training will be enough.
Lets get cracking.
